« La réussite est propre à chacun. C’est sentir et accepter qu’on a de la valeur là où on est. »

Discover the testimony of Amélie Portier (ISC Paris 1998), Human Resources Director of Cartier International, winner of the Hall of Fame 2020

Each year, the "Hall of Fame" ISC Paris Alumni highlights Alumni with remarkable careers, rich personalities, reflecting the talents of our 18,500 ISC Paris Alumni ! All of them have kept precious memories of their time at the ISC Paris and have at heart, each in their own way, to send a strong message through their testimonies to the Alumni and students.

Director of Human Resources at Cartier, Amélie is in charge of the executive teams of the brand with the mythical "Love" bracelet, that is to say 500 employees.

I never do the same thing, it's very motivating and stimulating! My mission has the most beautiful of senses for me because it is related to the human being.

Amélie welcomes us into her home with a smile and tells us about her path. Her simplicity contrasts with the new ideas she has been able to instil in the prestigious Cartier company: "Giving oxygen with flexiwork and inspiring conferences, creating transversality with Random Lunches, bringing innovative ideas to employees rather than the endless top-down or anticipating the major CSR challenges".

Visionary and thoughtful, Amélie gradually reached this key position. She assures:

To be a good HRD, having a good knowledge of people but also of the field is essential.

Knowing the evolution of professions, the expectations of managers and employees in order to provide concrete solutions.

Her story with Cartier began during her graduation internship but "it wasn't the right timing, there were no marketing positions at the time". It is thus at Eden Park, as Key Account Manager, that Amélie learns on the field and forges her commercial vision. But Cartier did not forget the young enthusiastic trainee and offered her two years later a position of Product Manager, which she accepted immediately. For ten years, Amélie evolves and becomes Marketing Group Manager. Then came the revelation. Thanks to the personal development workshops offered to managers, she got to know herself better:

"Introspection allowed me to reflect on my career and identify that I wanted to work for and with people." This reflection coincided with a personal need to "restore harmony between private and professional life" and led her to take a year's parental leave to mature her project. When Amélie returned to Cartier, she was sure of her choice: "Moving from marketing to human resources makes sense! To support people as close as possible to the business! "Two years ago, Cartier, which was able to support her in her transition, made no mistake and offered her the opportunity to join the “Cartier Women Leadership Program”, a great recognition of her talent and involvement!

The one who dared to listen to her deepest desires and take all the necessary turns assures:

Success is individual. It is feeling and accepting that you have value where you are.
